The aim of this project is to preserve the historical essence of the building while adapting it to a new functional scheme. The north and east façades remain unchanged, maintaining the original character of the structure, while the intervention introduces thoughtful additions that respect both the architectural context and the programmatic needs. The intervention begins with a minimal elevation to the historic part of the building, transforming the attic into a habitable space. The west façade of this volume is completed with a simple yet effective structure, combining wooden infills with generous openings that allow natural light to penetrate deeply into the space. At the heart of the design lies a central concrete service core, which functions as a pivot between the two volumes, facilitating the transition and connection between the old and new parts of the project. This central element houses essential service areas and circulation, providing an anchor for the entire composition. A new volume, constructed in glass and wood, is introduced to house the institutional spaces. Defined by its simple form and structure, this addition provides expansive interior spaces while maintaining a domestic scale. Its architectural language is subtle yet contemporary, allowing it to blend harmoniously with the surrounding historic context. The result is a seamless integration of old and new, where the historical and the modern coexist in a refined balance.
